The following questions and answers are provided to help you get the information you need:
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
| | | That depends on your insurance company. We have a referral specialist on our staff who is familiar with the insurance companies and if a referral is needed, she will arrange for one to be completed. | | | How do I communicate with my physician?
| | | Whether you are calling to make an appointment, inquiring about test results, have questions about your medication, or are ill and want to know if you need to be seen that day, you will reach our front office staff. Non-urgent messages will be taken or same day appointments will be made if necessary. Phone calls will be returned in a timely manner; however, our highest priority is to focus on scheduled patients being seen in the office on any given day. | | | How do I get my new prescriptions filled or existing prescriptions refilled?
| | | Local Pharmacies: For new prescriptions, our office will either give you a written prescription or call it to the pharmacy of your choice. For established prescriptions with authorized refills, the patient should call the pharmacy and they will fax us a refill request. If the physician authorizes the refill, the authorization will be faxed back to the pharmacy within 24 hours.
Mail Order Pharmacies: For new mail order prescriptions, written prescriptions are needed by the patient to mail into the pharmacy. Your physician will give you the prescriptions at your appointment or you will need to call the front desk and give a message to our medical assistants for first time mail order prescriptions. The mail order pharmacies will fax us an authorization for refills or they will call our prescription line at (303) 794-5464.
Please note that because of volume fluctuations, the prescription refill process can take from 24 to 72 hours. Please plan in advance when you will need refills, so you don’t run out of your medications. | |
